New T6.1 order delays

Dead easy @PhilR , Guy will chuck you the keys and tell you to go through it with a fine tooth comb. Covid is still in force so he leaves you to it, I told him I have seen every video alive so was quite confident I knew enough. I confirmed my warranty extension for 5 years the warranty certificate was was in my inbox by the time I got home (10 mins). He is so laid back and dead easy to deal with. There was another handover today and he had done 4 already this week!

In all fairness I just checked everything was there, didn't put the roof up it was pissoing down, checked the auxiliary heater that was fine, needs a high setting though 7+. Two bins provided one big un for the door and one for the cupholder and cargo net for the back.

Immediate shopping list, window deflectors defo, rains drips in from the roof when window is open. Ordered VW ones from there for £28 + vat, need some carpets for the back floors slippy when wet and some rubber mats for the front I think. Young lad in the parts dept was helpful. I need to practice my mounting and dismounting technique though the seat is high. Steering lighter than my car not used the handbrake yet just leave in Park :)
Cali looks awesome @Wooga, im also a starlight order from preston, but in the queue for next years builds.
Do you get carpet mats in the front or this too much to expect when buying a new vehicle?
Dont suppose you have the details for the vw window deflectors?
Is there a discount off parts at Preston through VIP membership?
TIA

Yes the cab is carpeted and a mat on top, both quite thin but grey so will show the muck. Part no for the wind deflectors on the order is M WZGB 7H0 072 19 ROWE05 Front side wing, they are struggling with back orders due to the container back log.. No I did ask but he said they didn’t sign up for it but he gave me 5% anyway, better than a kick in the teeth.

Great to hear mate, cheers.
Contacted Guy today and have now added a towbar. Was easy to get sorted.
I’m glad he leaves you to check it. I’m going to go over it with that fine tooth comb for sure, I’m a fussy bugger (but then I should be spending this much I guess!!!).

Having ordered my ocean at the end of Oct and thinking about when I might get news on build dates. Its clear to me now just to wait until the middle of January and to then contact VW. Thanks for all the chat so helpful knowing there is such a great bunch of members helping each other out with fantastic tips and advice

Finally got confirmation from the dealer! In the event of no deal that as long as I take delivery within 14 days of the van coming into the Uk if it comes after the 31st of March there will be no tariff. Ordered on 30th of sept... my bet is that I’ll be lucky to get it in April.

Can I ask who your dealer is?

Went through drive the deal who put it with eurovans in Crawley
Same dealer for me. I ordered a 150 on 8 Oct and have a new (2nd) provisional build date of 25 January, told to expect March delivery.
Is yours a 204?

Arrived yesterday with Crawley Eurovans via Drive The Deal. Ordered 19/08 - 150DSG

they sent the video earlier today. Awaiting spoiler, side bars, dropped suspension, tracker and dashcam, hopefully delivered via low loader before Christmas?

I just re-read your 14 day statement. It’s not great if it’s 14 days from coming into the UK - we have no control over how long it will take them to transport and PDI it.

Great, you’re about 2 months ahead of me, and I’m expecting mine in about 2 months time.
Good looking Cali! Did you get the sports pack? Would like to see the video as I’ve ticked the box too (Ascot Grey) but don’t really know what it looks like.

TBH, given the delays and these promises, if they try and charge me £5.5k extra I will be asking for my deposit back. How many waiting for orders will actually pay rather than walking?

I reckon that might be the first with sports pack to be shown on the forum; be really interested to see some more pics / video when you can.

I ordered our new Ocean on 8 Dec knowingly beyond the 2 December deadline for price protection. I wanted a place in line and was given assurances by the dealer I could get my deposit back if a no deal brexit resulted in a 10 percent price increase. However, I’ve just seen a VW UK twitter post0BCA20FA-041F-4435-B7DA-75B49D1FE90C.pnging that’s suggests I’m protected from tarrifs because our order was prior to year end. Am I right to be assured? Or is there still a risk here?

Great. Hard to see the black underguard against the Indium grey on a rainy day, but good to see black wing mirrors. One dealer told me they weren’t included, another that they were and I think I saw body coloured mirrors deleted when I selected sports pack on the confuserator, but they’re not mentioned in the brochure. Glad they are...

Hi Bill I ordered my Cali...199...4 Motion on the 17 August and I still have no idea when I might get a build date or delivery or if there will be duty applied due to a no deal brexit so don’t hold your breath ...it is astonishing that VW can treat someone like this when they are spending £72k plus on one of their vehicles. It must be heading towards the top price of any VW....on their list but how much will it actually cost me when it arrives.....maybe I should roll some dice!!

The small print says final price is at the discretion of the retailer. So is the marketing statement worth anything?

Thanks for that testpilottimmy...gives me some comfort....previously it was the 2 Dec....hope the small print does not change that!!!

Looks well nice mate. What spoiler have you gone for, front/rear?

My dealer told me (in writing) that it's 28 days from when it arrives in the UK!!??
