Original Bike Rack - max safe speed

Hi everyone,


I have the original VW bike rack and I have a question. I need to drive about 1500 km and I'm wondering what the maximum safe speed is.


The issue is that I'm carrying aero racing bikes, which are quite delicate. As you can see in the photo, they stick out a bit and the brake levers and handlebars are directly exposed to the wind.


Does anyone have any recommendations?

I’d suggest that’s a bigger issue with the bike than the bike rack. I’d be more concerned with a clamp type bike rack on a carbon frame though (and it looks like you’re cushioned it with something but even so)
