The TSI Petrol engine options for RHD T6 Transporter range including the California (option currently available only in LHD) are coming to UK for 2018. I have this confirmed by VW UK.
If I was changing my T5 I'd opt TSI for sure ....

Or wait for the T7 and possibly a Hybrid.:thumb

VW Nutzfahrzeuge are not really going to be focusing on hybrid Transporter development as they see that as an interim stage, they are into fully electric future, alongside very different cleaner diesel engines..
and also it is highly unlikely that any version of all those concept retro bullis will go into production,
(not just speculation, totally authentic source)

I looked at the configurator this afternoon and TSI and TDI options were shown, but none of them at all (Diesel or petrol) were available.

all I can confirm is that VWCV plan to have TSI engines available in UK in 2018. When in 2018 is to be decided, hence nothing will show up anywhere till officially announced.

note to self: check recent posts b4 posting a new thread!

Thanks for your post. Can you offer further info on the very different cleaner diesel engines please?

The price if a hybrid...probably start at £70,000 based on what hybrid cars charge.

When do you think T7 will be out? T6 has not been out long enough yet?

Going on the past 2020?

Only that newer cleaner more efficient is what's in development ...whatever that means! and prob the new T generations will be like the 5>6 with technological advances in driver safety and engines marking the generation change rather than any dramatic styling changes!

For all you petrol heads, and diesel dislikers
The latest petrol engine options are available to order now in UK for all RHD T6s including the California Ocean and Beach, first deliveries expected October.

A recent study in Switzerland has shown that petrol is just as dirty as diesel and contains even more particulates than previously suspected. They are recommending having particulate filters fitted to petrol engines in the coming years.

The petrol options do not appear on the official configurator yet, I looked today, does anyone know what they are? I would rather not visit the local dealer

As stated in many various threads petrol Cali's are discontiued

Thanks for such a quick response and my apologies, I have just started looking at a new T6 so I have a bit of catching up to do! I wonder why they were discontinued so quickly?

High fuel use , low on power , emmisions , ....
So they say , but there are many happy petrol Cali owners here on the forum (not UK owners)

All the major development now being directed at non fossil power sources. Petrol and commercial vehicles hasn't been very efficient for a few years. Further development would be very costly and probably legislation would kill any financial returns.

Porsche no longer do a diesel.
Make of that what you will.

Porsche never ever should have gone diesel , since then Porsche lost it's niche...

Yes, i agree, hopefully the dark days are over.
I think it´s all about massaging the figures across the range,
like Aston Martin and that toyota aygo thing.
