Plug Behind the Passenger Seat

Afternoon everyone. Does the 2 pin socket at the base of the B pillar behind the passenger seat (the one in a kind of 'diamond' shape) run off the leisure battery only? Or if you are hooked up, does it run off the camper site electrics as well?

Do you know where you can get an adapter, the two pin in the unusual shape to a conventional 3 pin?

I don't know anything about electrics; please assume nothing. I have a 2009 T5 174 Cali. Very grateful for your help.

Assuming the T5 electronics are the same as the 6.1. the plug you detail is only active when on EHU.

That is the 150 watt 230v Inverter socket.
It is powered by the Leisure Batteries.
So when on Campsite EHU the Campervan mains charger will charge the Leisure Batteries which all the 12v lights, fridge, Parking Heater and the Inverter. BUT remember you can only plug in Low Wattage electrical items, no hair straighteners, electric kettles.

It is powered by the Leisure Batteries.

I’m very new to Calis myself so forgive me if I’m wrong but my understanding is the euro 2 pin socket on the b pillar is always live, whereas the 3 pin UK socket higher up on the end of the kitchen is only live when on hook up? Could be wrong tho!

In any case I wired myself a lead about 1mtr long which has the euro 2 pin plug on one end and a trailing uk socket on the other. I’ve put some Velcro on the back of the socket, and some on the side of the kitchen, and also on the metal in the pop top which means it can be stuck on either of those locations depending on where I need power. Will only use it for charging a phone or iPad but it’s handy to be able to move it around the van so it can be used anywhere.

Within the socket is a microswitch and a LED that turns green when the Inverter is switched On. The Inverter is switched on when the plug is inserted and depresses the microswitch.
Sometimes the microswitch can jam in the On position leaving the Inverter On and this can flatten the Leisure Batteries over a few days.

It is only powered by the Leisure Batteries and if not plugged into EHU it will deplete the Leisure Batteries.
If you are plugged into the EHU it will still only run off the Leisure Batteries BUT the mains charger will compensate for the power drawn from the Leisure Batteries by charging the Leisure Batteries.
