Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice from you technical / electrical wizards.

I’m experiencing severe problems with my radio in my Cali. I’ve included a video link to better explain the problem.

When i start the engine from cold, everything is fine and as it should be.
However, when the engine reaches the temperature of about 90 degrees, after 10-15 minutes or so, i hear severe and loud hissing noise from my stereo.
Also, when i rev, i can hear the car revving through the speakers!
If i turn the engine off with radio on, the hiss continues until i take the key out of the ignition.

If i restart, the hiss comes back.

This makes my car stereo unusable of course.

Does anyone savy recognise what is going on here?
Any advice on where i should check?
It has been this way since a bought it one year ago, but i’ve been too happy camping to let it bother me, now i’m determined to fix it.

All the filming was done from a standstill.

Thanks everyone !!!!

As it is no original unit, try to unplug it.
If the noise is gone with the unit unplugged, it's some interference from the badly EMC shielded unit with the engine.
I don't have this problem, so I would not know what is really going on here.

Do you have digital voice enhancement on the stereo ? If you do and that is switched on that could explain the noise of engine coming through speakers ?

Do you have a dashcam or other unit with wiring going past the stereo ? A ferrite core was supplied with my dashcam to prevent interference with DAB or FM signal.
