Rattle inside wind out awning arm

Hi, hoping someone can revive my sanity! I’ve been chasing a few rattles and squeaks around our 2018 California Beach for a while. Pretty much all resolved but I have now found what I think is the source of the last rattle inside the aft end inner awning arm.

It rattles when knocked with an open palm and all moving parts are damped and the awning is open. The same noise is created when the outer casing is tapped from the outside with the awning fully wound in. What I think is the same noise is transmitted inside the cabin when navigating rough ish Bristol roads.

I suspect the cables inside the arm are the culprit but not 100% sure.

Few questions:

- has anyone else experienced the same?
- are there any fixes that don’t involve a £200 replacement arm (or nose cancelling earphones!)?
- has anyone replaced the arm…it looks straightforward enough

I’m sure this has been done to death but I struggled to find answers on the forum.

TIA
Steve

Has the hinged cover part of the awning still got its rubber cushions inside?

Yeh I’ve isolated everything I can with felt pads etc…it really does sound like it’s coming from inside the arm itself

Ignore the top tape....12x1mm foam tape
