Late to the party, but I had the bouncy metallic rattle right above my head which developed in the last couple of months when driving on rougher parts of the road. I was losing my mind! I’m really sensitive with annoying noises, so I was starting to think I might give up on the California, as noises and issues (including the tap stopping working when ever the tank empties) are starting to add up.
I found that the noise was the awning because the rattle stopped if I put my arm out the window and held the awning casing.
I opened it up and checked anything that is loose or has a bit of play in it… The LEGS WHEN FOLDED up seemed to have the most play when nudging, so I wedged a bit of cardboard up in the gap, and voila! Rattle gone! Thank God!
