I went to put my daughters car seat back in the Cali last night.

The O/S rear belt has retracted and is completely locked. I can’t move it a cm.

It looks like it’s detected a crash - it’s retracted so hard it’s crushing the seat foam underneath it.

It hasn’t been braked hard, let alone crashed.

Anyone experienced this and/or know how to release it?

Had the same once. Was a pain. Had to basically push the top of the belt in as hard as I could to get enough slack to pull it back out due to the ratchet mechanism.

This has happened to me too. If you lie the seats down as if making up the bed, then put back into the upright position, the seat belt locking mechanism should release.

Hi - thanks a million. I will give this a go.

Now you remind me that is exactly what I did too.

Happened to me too. Found it the day after I picked it up - when we were going out with friends...
NIce to see it was thoroughly checked at PDI
