Rear wiper piece missing? Or am I imagining things?

My Cali is freshly back from the garage after some warranty work and when loading the van again I noticed that on the rear wiper the spindle base and nut is visible. Was that always the case or had a bit dropped off during valeting? Would someone with a facelifted Cali let me know what theirs looks like. Hopefully I'm just going mad and it was always like that.

There should be a plastic cover with a slot in it to let the washer spray out
