Is this the one to use in a T5 2.5 5 pot 174 now?

The Touareg with the 2.5 5 pot HAS to have the 506.1 ONLY not 507 to prevent premature cam lobe wear. Most main stealers don't carry it.Is this the one to use in a T5 2.5 5 pot 174 now?

Bought some of this last week. It had to be 507 for diesels with DPF no matter what the service regime.I'm presuming this is the one for our loz?

Generally yes, but there are a couple of exceptions for older engines like the 5pot PD engine that must have the 506.01 as these have been proven to get cam lobe wear with the incorrect oil.So is the consensus that any fully synthetic 5w/30 will do the job?
We all fret about this subject but many a garage as we all know just bung in whatever's in the bulk oil container or so I have heard....![]()
