I’ve yet to sleep up top but surely you just half close the roof cover and leave a gap too small for the pillows to fall through?Hmmmm.......interesting consensus, maybe rethinking this one! Thanks for thoughts.
On a not entirely unrelated matter, how do you all stop your pillows falling off the end of the bed during the night. (I, of course, naturally assume you sleep with heads to the front of your Cali!)
Velcro was invented for just this type of thing LOLHmmmm.......interesting consensus, maybe rethinking this one! Thanks for thoughts.

i would be looking at any down filled sleeping bag at least 3 season they are much warmer and compress small ,just get them washed by a specialist at the end of your season, they will last years. As we are new to the Cali we are looking at just this question and have some contenders...

all the above are very nice a cosy to sleep in
I’d get none of these - either go for something super cheap in Decathlon or go for a down filled proper bag (e.g. Rab, Mountain Equpiment, Sea to Summit, Marmot, etc) which will last you a lifetime. I still have a Rab 5 season one that I bought in about 1991 and it’s still going strong (it’s for winter mountaineering not campervanning). As we are new to the Cali we are looking at just this question and have some contenders...

sleeping upstairs is like camping surrounded by canvas not much heat gets up there .Hi kp64zl
Yes now if I was going to basecamp and sleeping over before the assent I would agree with you. But coming from camping to the Cali I don't want it to feel like I am camping LOL plus we have a heater. I did look at Decathlon and found a very nice one at £99 quid........https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/camping-sleeping-bag-arpenaz-10-cotton-double-2-people/_/R-p-336795?mc=8677190&c=BEIGE
Same and a hat for winter in place of the sleeping bag hood.We just use a kingsize duvet from home, the anticipated weather dictates whether it's a summer or winter one.
Now were talking Hats and Socks in bed, if only I could get away with this at home LOLSame and a hat for winter in place of the sleeping bag hood.
ha ha, the old thatch is a bit thin for me, socks as well for sure, normally when outside temps are sub zero, don't use the heating overnight. Now were talking Hats and Socks in bed, if only I could get away with this at home LOL
in warm weather just open the sleeping bag and use as a duvet and sleep in the linerWe just use a kingsize duvet from home, the anticipated weather dictates whether it's a summer or winter one.
