It is easier to turn the seat with the door open for sure, @WelshGas. So your advice remains sound regarding turning it. An OBD lock (I have window stickers on four sides, quite discreet but sufficient), and some form of steering lock hopefully adds discouragement, at least in my view.And how long does it take ?
So smash window, climb in, alarm is sounding, turn drivers seat, overcome immobiliser and steering lock and drive away.

I have two self adhesive red dots, both sides, one on the sliding seat and the other just below on the fixed part.
