Hi, I'm looking to get fitted a roof bar system that I can easily remove bars from a rail when not being used.

Thinking of Reimo, SCA, any experience or opinions on whats best, its mainly for carrying surf boards.

Needs are....simple to fit, safe, locking, removable, aero bar type design....

Thanks

I've got the standard VW ones and they are okay, although I think they are a little tall looking. Easy to put on and come with a basic torque wrench. They are not as flat as some Aero bars, but have the T slot.

You'll also need to carry a ladder or steps unless you're 7 foot tall:rolleyes:

Sorry, just re-read your post and you've got a T4. So unless the T4 has the same roof channels as the T5 ignore my comments apart from the need for a ladder.

Def T4 and no channels, flat Cali roof

How will you secure it. The Aluminium roof is not that thick. I'm not too concerned about the weight but the aerodynamic forces involved.
The fibreglass roofs tend to be thicker.

Ah, rails and bars. I believe the roof is fibreglass-its original westy
