Good,no GREAT news!!
After some patience and healthy negotiations,my dealer and myself have reached a settlement.
I was offered my money back but asked for time to consider my options.
The dealer then told me that they had ordered a new California in Olympian blue and would transplant the roof onto my bus. I didn't fancy that-just lost my confidence in the vehicle and not sure if would ever have been right.
To my surprise I was then offered the chance of a new Sand Beige California with better spec and an engine upgrade for another £1000-No brainer!!
I must say that the dealer has eventually been very accommodating but (unusually) I have also been very patient and it has paid off.
I have been told that VW are reviewing the supply strategy of California roofs after now realising that supplying white,black or silver did not cover their entire colour options of the model. I hope they do come to their senses.
Phew,I'm glad that's almost done,it arrives in 10 days.
