Roof canvas damage

Just put my roof up as part of my cleaning and hoovering and have noticed 2 small holes in the canvas. They are from somehow getting caught in the fastening locks at the front. I have also noticed that the canvas seems marked and worn where it has been closed. Any ideas for repair or suggestions for making sure that it doesn’t happen again?

mine is the same tear aid will help . make sure when you pull the roof down the canvas is not covering the catch each side before pulling the catch tight

Thanks. I’ve always thought that I’ve been dead careful when closing but obviously not What is tear aid?
