Hi all
Here is a weird one.....we have been away in our Cali for about three weeks now and during that time, there have been about four occasions during the night when our kids are asleep up in the roof when the roof suddenly makes that distinctive 'buzz' it makes when it is being opened or closed. It only lasts a second or two, but every time it happens we jump out of our skin and leap to save our kids from being crushed in the roof! Logic tells us that the roof couldnt/wouldnt ever close of its' own accord, especially as it requires the ignition - but it is a bit scary in the middle of the night! Anyone elses roof do this? The first time it happened it was a windy night, but since then calm conditions.
Thanks as always for your advice

Perfectly normal, it is the roof hydraulics pushing the roof into the fully open position. Happens when the roof has usually been up for a few days and might have sagged a little. You can avoid this happening in the night by turning ignition on and checking it yourself before bedtime. Hope this helps. .

It's normal. The roof does a regular automatic check to ensure its fully open and if required gives it a pump to fully erect it. If I recall its after ten hours then every five after the ignition is turned off.

Ah good! We figured it would be something along these lines. Thank you so much for your replies! We can rest easy without the fear that we are going to be swallowed during the night by a campervan clam!
