Roof rails - low versus high

I have just asked one question but then realised I had another. We surf so ideally need a roof rack. Thought we would get the Thule Wing Bars. Are these the best ones to get? Also does anyone know if the low version are any more noisy with the wind than the higher set? Also are the low ones still high enough to easily attach a board? Thanks
