I have never tried lifting mine out....doesn't it need to be right forward....to far for a person to be able to sit on it??There's two - one at the front and one at the back. The front one stops you moving the seat forward to the lift out position where it could tip forward in an emergency stop. But as long as you are cognoscent of that you get a much more flexible space by removing them both.
It would be handy to remove it to get a full length loading space. But its a 3 person job as it is so heavy so not sure I ever will. But removing the stop allows me to move it forward far enough to be able to carry bikes upright in the back using a fork stand.I have never tried lifting mine out....doesn't it need to be right forward....to far for a person to be able to sit on it??
Just out of interest, though I am not sure I will ever need to. I managed to move lots of my mothers things , just by having it far forward, and putting things in the seat
The rear stopper is inserted from the front, then the seat and then the front stopper. I didn’t think you could remove them that way. After some faffing about & expletives, I've removed the stopper.
Shift the bench as far forward as possible, which allows the rails to be prised apart slightly and then remove the stopper.
