Side Loading Motorcycle Trailer

Oh, that’s not good news.

Obvs didn’t sell enough non-road legal e-bikes at £4750 a pop. Hmmmm?

The same chap recommended one of these which, apart from the sh1t name has good reviews
Moustache Samedi 27 Trail 8

Nice e-bike but we would like to explore further afield so that wouldn't do it for us. I think we are leaning towards the original trailer idea which means we can still take our mountain bikes on the rack as well as the motorcycle.

Just wondered if anyone had any expereince with side loading motorcycle trailers? Our prefererred option was to fix the bike to the back but I am coming to the conclusion that isn't going to work with a 180kg bike. We are looking at armitage trailers at the moment but if anyone has any other recommendations they would be appreciated. Also if anyone has any experience towing trailers in France and Spain that would be helpful also. The reason we wanted to mount the bike was because of reduced speed limits and other restrictions.
I have one which I towed with my Audi q3 with a Honda 125 scooter pcx and I really noticed the weight

I can't believe you would even feel it on a Q3 unless it was a particularly heavy trailer. The armitage trailer I am looking at has an unlaiden weight of 125kg so with a 180kg motorcycle on it only weighs in at just over 300kg. Compared with other forms of trailer that has to be negligable from a towing point of view. I guess wind resistance might effect it but this should be negated somewhat when behind a Cali.

I'm amazed that people are saying that towing a bike on a trailer would be too much for a Cali! I towed my trike (admittedly on a trike dolly not a trailer) all the way from Dorset to Scotland with a car with a smaller engine than the Cali, and the only problem I had was remembering it was there!

Agreed @BikerGran and I'd imagine @GrannyJen would give up dragging a caravan around the country if a motorcycle trailer was a problem :)

just interested did you go down the Armitage side loader route ,we bought one took to Italy in 2019
We haven't done anything yet. I called Armitage but they wanted £600 deposit with no guarantee as to when it would be delivered so that put me off a little.
