We have arranged a meet in the Gloucestershire area in May from 17th to 19th. This should be relatively easy to get to from many parts of the UK.

The location will be at the Tudor Caravan Park, Shepherds Patch, Slimbridge, GL2 7BP. Which is the same place as last year. It is next to the Sharpness Canal which gives the possibility of long flat cycle rides to nearby villages. Frampton on Severn if you go Northwards or Purton & Sharpness to the South. http://www.tudorcaravanpark.com/ There is no direct access from the field to the canal so the site is safe for children.
It is also only ½ a mile from the Slimbridge wetland wildlife reserve.
The site is level and we are on a field together, but there are no hook-up points on this field. There are some on the adjacent fields, but you will then not be with the main group.
The price is £17 per night and you book directly with the campsite 01453-890483. You must mention VW California Club to get the discounted rate and to be with the main group, you will also be able to come earlier or stay later at this rate if you book it at the same time. Campers staying in the rally field are able to stay until after lunch on the Sunday.

The campsite has given us 40 places on the Rally field. Should visitors wish to stay on an EHU pitch they are not covered by the Rally discount and will pay full price as per prices published on the website, please be aware these pitches are not near the rally field.

To get there:-

From the North, come down the M5 and take the Glos exit 13 then A38 and follow signs to WWT Slimbridge.

From the South, take exit 14 from M5 & then A38 North and follow signs to WWT Slimbridge.

From the East, take exit 18 from the M4 and follow the A46 to Stroud. Then follow signs to the M5 and take the A38 southwards.

Please try to avoid arriving at school finishing time, 14.45-15.45 as the roads are very narrow around here with few passing spaces.
At the roundabout on the A38 brown tourist signs direct you to the WWT & Tudor Caravan Park which is just before the canal bridge. Pub on the left, drive through the pub car park and reception is on your right.

Could you please add a note to this thread when you book so we can keep a track of numbers please. Many thanks. Simon

Sadly , becose Scotland is high on the list.

Its bound to be a great weekend but sadly may have to pass on this one as we had planned to extend our Club Factory Trip (8, 9 and 10th May) into this week. Date is pencilled in buy not certain yet pending final plans.
Edit: Don't get back in UK until 21st May. Sorry @SimonB can't support this time. I'm sure it will be a great meet. To the next one!

There speaks a man from "out the West" - as to the 'relatively easy to get to'!!! Some of us have to contend with the delights of the M25!!!

Sorry we can't make this as it clashes with our trip to Denmark

Interested - supposed to be in Lincolnshire that weekend will try and move to earlier date and travel across country to Slimbridge.

Sorry, will be in Spa with our Cali and a lot of old cars.

Sorry, clashes with Big Bang at Santa Pod

Definitely interested, haven't booked yet as don't want to tempt fate........ we don't get the bus until March (hopefully!)

We've been caravaners for years but never been on a rally or specific owners meet, so this would be our first. Really keen to immerse ourselves in the full VW scene.... :thumb

Unfortunately on my Bi-annual trip to Scandinavia. Hope you have good weather and a great meeting.:thumb

Hi everybody. We have just booked for the nights of 17th and 18th.

Will ring site tomorrow - will be there if vacancies :)

Just stumbled across this meet, do you know its not showing under 'Events' on the ribbon at the top? We loved this meet last year so will be booking over the weekend :)

Simon - Just a note to confirm I have booked the 2 nights with the site. See you then
