Spare wheel carrier bolts

Helloooo
Went to fit a spare carrier to my 6.1 Ocean this morning (it came on 18’s and now on 20’s) and noticed the bolts in the kit were BOTH captive type bolts - is this right?

My T6 has one captive and one normal. I didn’t fit it in the end as I was concerned the bolt wouldn’t come out. Chancing this weekend with the sticky gunk kit.

Hi Stu, that doesn’t look right to me. I bought the kit from the club shop as well as the spare safe. The spare safe comes with a security bolt, so I didn’t use the non captive bolt that came with the carrier kit.

You’re welcome to have it if you want it. I think you’re not too far from me?

There should also be a metal clip at the top of the captive bolt that prevents it from dropping out

Yes it didn’t look right to me either. That’s a very kind offer thank you. The place I purchased from messaged me tonight to say they’re sending the correct bolt. Fingers crossed and thanks for your input - most helpful! If you’re not far from me I MUST have seen you out and about in your cali!
