We have a problem seeing the sat nav in bright sunlight. Has anyone else experienced this and come up with a solution? I have seen shades advertised on Amazon, but none specific for the Kenwood unit.

It'll be winter soon, that should solve the problem!

I confirm it's a pita of the Kenwood, not happy with my quiver

I made one for my tom tom using plastic sheeting from a model shop, took ages to make but no use now as i have a new tom tom

How bad is this issue? I've been thinking about upgrading our head unit. Currently have the RCD310. But don't want to pay out for one of these if they are not perfect. Has anyone tried Davids suggestion of contrast adjustment in the following thread? http://vwcaliforniaclub.com/threads/t6-at-nec.11844/#post-114821
Thanks

Yes we have tried it - def makes a difference but the sun hasn't really been bright enough since to check if it has worked completely!

It's a shame that tilt adjustable screens aren't standard fitment in these units. My pioneer can suffer from this in bright conditions which would be easily solved if I could twiddle the screen round a bit!

I noticed this too. When trying to view reverse camara, sun sometimes washes the screen out. I made a cowl to help. made from some plastic sheet, shaped by using a heat gun and fixed with double sided tape.DSC_0035.JPG DSC_0036.JPG DSC_0037.JPG
