Super-B Lithium

I’ve got a 90aH Super-B LifePo4 fitted in my Knaus BoxDrive and no complaints from me. I was worried it wouldn’t be sufficiently large enough capacity but with 100w solar and B2B, it’s perfect for my needs where I tend to move around every 2days. It’s got built in Bluetooth which enables me to keep an eye on consumption and levels. Had it in the van since new (15months ago) and done >40 nights also through cold winter without any issue.

I thought the joy of camping is to lose the resilience upon fixed infrastructure.

Absolutely - its the ability to be off grid for as long as possible; whether that be carrying my own water, generating (or storing) sufficient electricity for my needs, having sufficient toilet capacity and generally being away from it (and everyone) in a relatively comfortable setting.

I guess everyone has a different definition of what camping is about and what their basic requirements are.

Has anyone here installed a Super-B lithium pack in their Cali?

VW Campercentrum in Amersfoort supply these. I also noticed that Super-B’s website claims that its VW certified and that the VW warranty is retained.

Yes I have the package. Works like a breeze. I had it installed in a day at the original developer of the package Car electric near Hamburg in Germany. Price for package is still steep but much less than the advertised one.
The prize is about the same as two super b batteries and and a Votronic 70 amp charger. They install and are allowed by VW to enter the change in the VW database making it a “factory option “with guarantees intact.
We have no solar but I need a CPAP at night only working on 240v . With the package (200 amp) I last at least two days and use the build in vw 300v outlet (2023 Ocean)

My 725W electric kettle takes about 7% of the EF power to boil 375ml of water. Charging the laptop is also about 5-7%. Running electric fans, a 100W projector, router, mossie zapper etc all take power. The fridge is a power sponge in the heat so I would prefer to reserve the 2 leisure batteries for powering that.
What about the air fryer and induction hob? :thumb

What are people using all this power for?

I’m still charging our phones and Kindles on the 12v ciggie socket. We go for a drive every 5 days.

Is it all about ‘bugging out’? Listening to Elon too much, and watching ‘Civil War’?
You can get lots of items to run off 12v; laptop, large monitor, 5G router, projector etc. You need to right-size your available power for your needs. For me that’s the single Beach leisure battery supplemented by EcoFlow Delta 2 and the Alternator Charger, both of which can easily be removed if necessary.
