Switzerland in June?

No problem re hight. Happy to be corrected however as far as I know Furka, Vereina and Goppenstein car train are okay with 2m at least.

Your tour sounds great and happy the weather turned out better than expected. Great to have another option for date/calls for visitors because Swiss Mobile Contracts are usually quite expensive.

Enjoy your time and stay safe!

Edit: Look forward to see some pictures
Sorry for the late reply :p already back home and working...

The car train worked out well, even some big whites and trucks were loaded. I think it is a few CHF cheaper if you pay online, still rather cheap for such a simple transfer :)

From Zermatt (or rather Tasch) we transfered through the mountains via Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen, then took a train ride up to Klein Scheidegg, then hiked via Eiger trail to Grindelwald. After that we went on to Sustenpass and climbed there for 2 days. Then off to Luzern for a day visit and turned back home - visited Seealpsee and some hills around, then home via Liechtenstein, Innsbruck and Zell am See.

Amazing trip, can't wait to visit again :thumb will try to post some pics in the evening.

First stop was Livigno. Parked next to a lake and ran into some friends. Then we mountainbiked in Motolino bike park, next day went through a back valley on Madonon and down a trail of Carosello 3000 back to Livigno.

Filled up gas tank with super cheap diesel and climbed into Switzerland over Bernina pass.
1629804224142.jpg1629804224150.jpg
We drove through St. Moritz and Silvaplana, then on to Julier pass where we hiked to a random waterfall. 1629804224167.jpg1629804224173.jpg1629804224161.jpg
Then it was a rather long drive to Oberalp pass. Parking for 24 hours is 5 CHF, so we hiked to Pazolastock and Rhein river source. 1629804224155.jpg
After that we moved to Furka pass, and stopped for a quick shower along the way :)1629804224178.jpg

Vantastic!

We stayed two nights on Furka pass, parking is free of charge. Even though the weather seemed a bit sour, it brightened before noon, so we managed to check one of the items on our bucket list - climb above a glacier.

A good lunch followed to regain our strenght.
1629804224217.jpg
Then it was time for another transfer - stopped in Andermatt and then drove all the way to Tasch.
1629804224200.jpg
We wanted to go to a campground there, but all camps were full. So we parked on a large parking next to a small lake (water and toilet available) for 15 CHF per night.
Then in the morning, rode our bikes to Zermatt and took a cable car up to Blauherd. Did the 4 lake tour and Sunegga trail back to Zermatt, visited a museum and had a beer :)
1629804224223.jpg
Oh, and pancakes for dinner :D
1629804224228.jpg
Everything above Zermatt was amazing, however here is one negative aspect of Switzerland - all online prices for cable cars and trains advertised are half price. For us, it meant all prices x 2, as we did not have discount cards :(
Next day we transfered through mountains on a car train - amazing experience and quick of course.
1629804224234.jpg
Then we drove via Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen and found last spot in Camping Breithorn for 33 CHF :D It was laundry day :)1629804224240.jpg

We took a train to Kleine Scheidegg, and then hiked to Eiger Glacier and then under Jungfrau, Monch and Eiger all the way to Grindelwald. Then took a train back to Lauterbrunnen. Rewarded ourselves with waffles :)1629804224251.jpg
1629804224262.jpg1629804224257.jpg
Then we drove to Susten pass and parked under Steingletscher for 5 CHF per day. Did some resting, hiking and climbing there.

Now THIS is why I joined this forum, really great to follow your adventures

It was time to turn back home, Our last stop in Switzerland was Wasserauen, where we also parked for 5 CHF per 24h. Toilets available, river shower also :D
In the morning we hiked to Meglisalp, Seealpsee, Ascher.1629804224307.jpg
1629804224313.jpg
We drove through Liechtenstein (Vaduz) and then onto Austria. Slept one night in Innsbruck, under some cable cars, then stopped in Zell am See for swimming and sightseeing.

After 15 days we returned back home.

A few more info - we payed for 7 nights out of 14, slept in campsites only 2 times.

We drove almost 2000 km - did not need to refill our gas tank in Switzerland (yay!).

We spent a little less than 900 EUR all inclusive - we did bring most of our food with us - we bought mostly bread, cheese and beer when we ran out. We found that Aldi has similar prices as Hofer back home and we were pleasantly surprised at how friendly the locals were.

I tested back home before we left, my husband is vaccinated, noone bothered to check in all of 15 days.

All in all a very very pleasant trip - our honemoon to be exact (we got married back in October). If anyone would like some more details, please ask :)

So good to read you had a great time and the locals were friendly. Hope you'll be back soon! And congratulations re your marriage/honeymoon! Wish you all the best and many more trips together like that!
