T Bar under the Gas bottle for the vent hole

Hi I have recently purchased a California and still finding things out. I have been searching for any information and there is lots on here.

Does anyone know any information on the vent hole under the gas bottle with the small metal T Bar? The metal bar fitting into the hole is free and I believe it is meant to be secure. I spoke to my local dealer one guy said it was spring loaded another didn't know but checked one their vehicles and it was secure. They will take a look at it and I hope it is an easy fix. Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks

Hello, just been and checked and mine is definitely fixed .
Interestingly looking down into hole there is water. I had drained the fresh water and it exits down there.
I think the T bar is probably a fixing for the water tank and from underneath will have a nut securing it.
Just my musings on this as not a lot else to do today!
