T4 Petrol Cabin heater - How does it work?

Hi! Does anyone happen to have a diagram or basic info about the parking heater in a ‘96 petrol t4 Cali? Just come back from an autumn trip in Denmark. Reslised Mine is quite noisy, Smelly, only one fan working and like everything else is probably on its last legs but before I do anything About it I would need to actually understand how it works!

There's a label on your heater that will tell you what exact type you have (just look underneath the van); there is only 1 fan, hot air comes via the left grill, the right grill works on the hotwater circuit from your motor. It's a good idea to let it burn for half an hour every 2 months or so... Or you can dismantle is, put in a new sparkplug en grease the ventilator...
