Hello,
We’re currently enjoying getting to know our Van ‘Jessie’ whilst touring Cornwall, Devon and Dorset.
We’ve noticed our fridge draws a lot of power and keeps icing up. We’ve moved it to 3 and still the same.
Any suggestions to solve this please? Thanks.

Yr still in warranty period judging by your Reg No. Take it back to a dealer - let them sort it. After all you paid for it.

We have seen much the same in our new Coast. Started at 5, dropped to 4 and now to 3. Not seeing it as faulty at all, just very effective in use. Only had a few single nights away and discussed that we might need to drop it to 2 even. A day trip out today. Popped it on 3 when we left and everything nice and cold an hour later. Yes you see the algorythmn that guesses how many hours left in the panel drop considerably whilst the compressor is running, but it cuts out a short while later and the numbers shoot straight back up, as it recalculates with the newer reduce load once it is down to temperature. When you say it's drawing too much power, are you saying that batteries are running out after a short time, or are you just concerned about the algorythmn guesstimates on the control panel?

Thankyou, yes exactly as you describe. We’ve also fitted a solar panel to the roof and managed 9 days without electric hook up (including two teenagers charging tablets etc). We haven’t dropped below the last three bars all week but trying to understand the battery life via the onboard screen.

Don’t know the answer to you’re question, but it looks like you were at St Mawes castle. We were there earlier in the week and just did Pendennis castle today.

Both lovely spots and your Cali looks right at home…;-)

The T6.1 fridge must be very efficient - much to my horror, I froze some cans of beer on "4" and have been using "3" ever since, which keeps things very cold - I think any higher setting than 4 would be a viable freezer compartment.

We put ours in max on hook up to chill it before we go on a trip, then when we put our stuff in there before leaving we drop it to 2 or 3 and that keeps it nice and chilly for the duration of the trip usually long weekends etc. Our van is a 2020 ocean so fridge will be similar, they are very efficient and very well insulated

As we are not camping in our van but staying in a villa, I’ve turned our fridge down to just level one and that seems to keep drinks, stuff for lunch etc cold enough. It’s been running in 30 degree heat for 8 days now with on average about 20 mins driving a day as the only battery top up.
Level 3 had drinks freezing, it definitely needs a lower number setting than the older vans.

Is this fridge a condenser fridge ???
Anyone no what make an model it is ????

The biggest thing to note about the fridge is it's a proper fridge not a cool box....I was very surprised to find this out as was expecting a Thermoelectric version, but it has a proper compressor just like a fridge in your house...who knew
