Hello all,
I’m just wondering about the health of my leisure battery’s.
I’ve been to Scotland for 2 days/ 1 night. Circa 300 mile round trip.
Before leaving I charged my batteries on the mains to 100%. I minimised my usage as I was on a site without electric. all I had on was the fridge on level 3 and put the roof up once. Up on leaving the head unit displayed the batteries at 20%. 150 mile later they have dropped to 10%. So
Theyhaven’t been charging on the way home.
It’s a 65 plate t6 Ocean. Is it time for some new leisure battery’s? Or is there anything else I can try beforehand?

I appreciate any help!

Thanks Adam

1. On the picture you showed you have the G symbol showing, so I presume the engine was running?
If yes, does the voltage rise when you rev the engine?
If the answer is No, switch on one of the Heated seats and rev the engine again.
If still No the the Leisure Batteries are not being charged from the alternator.
I presume the engine starts OK, no evidence of the engine battery failing?

If that is the case, and there are no other electrical anomalies, check the large brown 80 amp fuse under the front passenger seat. It has its own fuse holder , normally on the door side. This fuse is in the power line to the front leisure battery from the alternator.

Also check the 75amp cube fuse on the rear Leisure Battery red + tve pole.

Thanks for your reply @WelshGas I appreciate it! yeah are no issues with the van starting. I will check both fuses tomorrow at work and get back to you!
Do you need to remove the passanger seat to gain access to the fuse under the seat?

Thanks again
Adam

Turn passenger seat to face Drivers seat, so 90o, and then slide backwards to towards the kitchen. This should give adequate access to the fuses.

Just managed to have a look after work @WelshGas, voltage does not change when heated seats are on after revving the engine. Now at 11.8v
I have also checked both fuses the 80 and 75amp. All seems ok nothing is blown. Is there anything else I could check?

Thanks again for your help

As above. See Post 26 onwards.

Thanks guys, I’ll take the starter battery out in the morning and check the mega fuses. Hopefully this will reveal the issue. Will let you know how I get on
Cheers Adam

No 3 from the right, is that usable as a spare?

Yeah only noticed that after I posted , saves me driving round trying to find one! any ideas why that’s a blank? On other photos I’ve seen on the forum it’s not?

Have you owned this vehicle from new?

If not maybe previous owner had same problem, and inserted a spare in case it happened again.

I haven’t @WelshGas, yeah that seems a good possibility. I’m going to carry a selection of spare fuses in the van from now on. Is there a diagram labelling the 10 midi fuses in the Ebox anywhere? I’ve searched the forum but haven’t found it yet. Just trying to gather as much information to help me with any issues in the future (hopefully there isn’t any! )

Hi I had this problem recently, and read the manual and I rebooted the roof panel by holding in the button until G disappeared by rebooting the panel , charged okay after rebooting panel. Thanks Paul

Interesting thread and great problem solving by members What spare fuses do the more experienced Cali owners recommend are carried on board (ie current rating and fuse type)? Specifically for a 2022 T6.1 Ocean.
