We have a new beach & 3 young children.....id quite like to cover the table in something, a) to protect it & b) so that I don't have to find somewhere to store a table cloth c) to add a bit of colour to a dark interior.

Can it be as simple as buying some oil cloth & cutting it to size? & if anyone has done this, what did you use to secure it to the table? I'm looking for something that will ultimately not mark the table when removed if we ever sell the van.

Thanks

I was thinking the very same thing today, so interested to see your reply's

What about having it vinyl wrapped at a vehicle wrapping specialist?

You could if it is tough enough, but I like the standard colour when stored in the door.

Perhaps it can be wrapped in close to standard colour or, I wonder if multi coats of plastidip clear (or Colour) would serve a purpose.

Car wrap vinyl is very thick and tough and I have bought some to do my table, yet to try it but the results look rather nice from that post.

I got a finish that was close to the original table

Vinyl wrapping on a flat surface like a table is not hard to do. Make sure it is super clean to start with, get a squirty bottle with water and a couple of drops of washing up liquid and squirt it on the table, peal off the wrap from the backing, put it on the table and smooth it out carefully with a squeegee (from the middle outwards). Don't rush and take your time and allow to dry. Job done. You could even cover the coloured wrap with a clear wrap too for added protection.

Even easier is good old fablon. Looks good too IMHO
