Tailgate Cali won’t shut - stuck in locked position

Can shut tailgate tonight. AA coming but this forum normally supports AA incompetence. It is in fully locked position, won’t close, not slamable. Any help much appreciated in next hour. Cheers Rob

Assume you’ve tried the normal of opening the tailgate with the handle, or screwdriver into to the lock mechanism to simulate the closing action?

If you have a look at the latch on the tailgate, is the claw open or shut. Not sure how to describe it but when the tailgate shuts a pin gets shut in the lock and a claw snaps over it. Not easy to do, but if it is closed, there should be a hole, if so try and put a screwdriver or tent peg in the latch pull and press the tailgate button ( I know this isn’t easy ! )

Have you tried Locking then Unlocking the vehicle using the Remote.

If you look at the inside of the door at the bottom under the edge of chair cover, you should see a black rubber bung. If you remove that you can get to the catch that is pulled by the door opening solenoid.

there is a picture on the forum, iirc @Hotel California posted it.
