Hi, can anyone please tell me how to remove a broken micro switch from the kitchen tap.
5amp fuse removed from under seat, tap lever is off, but then what?
Does just the metal part of the switch pull out from the white plastic casing, or does the whole white coloured plastic housing the switch need to be removed?
If so, does it just pull out, I can’t seem to work it out.
I have a new micro switch arriving tomorrow and everyone seems to say it’s any easy fix, but I’m not sure exactly how the old switch
comes out.

Thank you. Will give my tap another look tomorrow when the new switch arrives. Don’t think there is any screws on mine to undo though which is what is confusing me as I don’t want to just force it out and break something else.

Ok, so eventually managed to lever the old micro switch out of the housing, took a lot of trying mind.
Now the only issue is how to disconnect the wiring.
Do the two wires just pull out or is their a technique to do this, any help gratefully received, thanks.
Good old post office were due to deliver the new switch today but guess what…. They didn’t, don’t you just love em.

Update. So managed to prise part the connection box yesterday and fully remove the faulty micro switch. Bingo, or so I thought.
I have found it impossible to thread the new cable through the opening in the tap, so eventually decided to remove the tap completely to make it easier. Wrong again, still unable to thread it through.
Decided to just order a new tap.
so beware, in my opinion changing the micro switch is not as straightforward as many have said on this forum. If I had the know how and ability I would leave it out all together and fit separate switch on the side of the cupboard as some others have done.
