Having owned the Cali for a few weeks now, the BIG question is where to keep the Red wine or do we just make sure we drink it all in one go and only ever have one days supply at any given time ??
Supermarket six bottle bag with dividers in it kept in the wardrobe for the red & half a dozen bottles of white in the fridge, just need to watch the hight of the white bottles. Wine boxes can then be kept in the under hob cupboard as a back up supply.Having owned the Cali for a few weeks now, the BIG question is where to keep the Red wine or do we just make sure we drink it all in one go and only ever have one days supply at any given time ??
Clearly a man who has done his research.Supermarket six bottle bag with dividers in it kept in the wardrobe for the red & half a dozen bottles of white in the fridge, just need to watch the hight of the white bottles. Wine boxes can then be kept in the under hob cupboard as a back up supply.
We know how to pack for a weekend awayobviously longer trips may require using some of the boot space as well.Clearly a man who has done his research.

We tend to get a couple of wine boxes for short UK trips. If we’re away longer we’ll buy a few bottles here and there as we go.Having owned the Cali for a few weeks now, the BIG question is where to keep the Red wine or do we just make sure we drink it all in one go and only ever have one days supply at any given time ??
I soooooo want to do this LOLFill the fresh water tank with red wine and top up your glass from the tap. Who needs water?
Barbara, well the very thought....when it's open it rude not to finish it..LOLLOLThe solution for a Beach with no cupboards.
I always have a wine vacuum pump in the van so if the red wine bottle is opened it can be resealed and air pumped out. (just search wine vacuum pump on google) .
The bottle is then kept in an insulated bag which can be hang from the arm of a chair or just stands upright in a euro box. White wine is in an electric cool box from Halfords which was chosen for it's hight to make sure a wine bottle would fit. Red wine also kept here is a hot day, hot red wine is not nice. I agree too that supermarket 6 bottle bags are also good for wine also beer, gin and water bottles and sometimes herb plants.

What a great start to my Friday morning. Excellent and thought provoking conversation. I have to admit that i never had a problem with storage as they never lasted too long anyway. I love the idea of filling the fresh water tank with wine- genius and some day.......The Carriage of red wine is a question of season. In the winter keeping it the boot may subject it to too much chilling. In the summer keeping it there may toast it. It depends on how many bottles for how many days but I have found under the bench seat to be the best place.
Invest in a roll of bubble wrap, bottles chinking together may be a pleasing, bottles striking a metallic surface is irritating. Temperature is quite consistent which is a good thing. Whatever is normally kept there is not as important as the wine cargo so can either be redistributed or ditched. Who needs fresh clothes when you can instead drink decent wine?
I bought 4 platypus bags years ago and if I’m being organised I transfer the wine into these before a trip to save space and weight. Wine goes in the sink cupboard with the dry food, the next white obviously in the fridge.
You squeeze the air out of the bag before screwing the cap back on and the wine lasts for weeks. Well, the manufacturer says it does. I rarely have wine in the van for that long. Bags still ok after several years although I cracked one of the caps by enthusiastic tightening
