THULE finally fixed the omnistor!

I just became the second replacement on the Omnistor Awning (in 14 month), due to the persisting problem of the welding to split - especially when in warm condition.

But the new Awning I got is modified so that the fabric is no longer welded, but in ONE piece like the Fiamma. That is so nice.

I have seen so many broken units, alone during this holiday trip. It must really have been a burden for Thule. But I am so happy they finally fixed it!

Our second awning did not do well. After only a few month and three weeks in the sun, it broke and I needed to use gaffa and other stuff to stop it from splitting totally.


Our first Omnistor started to delaminate very quickly.

What is the fix? On our MY16 it now delaminated in Italy.

As the first post suggested, in 2017 they changed the fabric to a piece with no join in it.

I had the same problem today in sunshine. Weld failed completely. Had to duct tape. We have a T5.1 California SE. Can't see a model number on it.
Is it only Thule that can replace the Fabric??
I would like to go with one piece next as the welded seam is a design fault.

We are on the road ATM. Would like to use the same Fabric but one piece.
Be handy if we could find someone that offers this service.
