Tow-bar bike rack options Uebler vs Atera?

I didn’t find it a problem, don’t think I thought about it to be honest. Now the bikes have gone, still keeping the rack so I can strap a large box on it, so it will free up so much space. I have found it so easy to put on and take off.
Thanks that’s helpful. I’m sure so many other Cali owners have gone through similar dilemmas before purchase as none of the racks are cheap TBH.
I know Uebler make a specific box to fit the rack…at a cost of course…Does Atera do the same or were you thinking of making something for yourself ?

What option did you go with in the end and why?
I haven’t got one yet, as we haven’t arranged a trip with bikes - that’s Netherlands 2026. Still have the Uebler as our number 1. Our bikes are relatively light and not electric. I just really like the idea of removing it, folding it up and putting it in the boot when not in use, plus not taking up too much precious space. Slightly anxious about the term ‘flimsy’ but I guess it’s relative to the 21kg Atera, which just sounds like it might be too big and bulky for our needs. I’m not too worried about having to rotate the handlebars, if necessary and we don’t have a Spacemate.

To be honest I don’t think they make a box, I went to B&M bought a very large black box, lockable with 4 wheels for I think about £24. If on site we have a small pop up shower tent we use for storage, we put the box & tow at in there, but to be honest it’s just as easy to leave on back of van when on site.
