I'm looking to have a (removable) tow bar fitted to our 6.1 Ocean.

Previously I've had bars fitted to cars by some great guys in the NW but need somewhere good more localy. Any recommendations in the Guildford area?

Hi,

Know a mobile guy that works across Surrey and SW London so probably go down to Guildford. He's fitted a couple of removable tow bars to my cars in the past as well as for some of my friends. Good service and good price! Will DM you with details.

Have used Phil Taylor Towbars in Waterlooville twice on previous cars. Had a quote from him when looking for our Ocean but we ended up buying new and getting a VW factory fitted towbar.

Are there any particular recommendations for after market tow bars to the T6.1?

I bought a Westfalia OE detachable tow bar kit from 'Motor Mate' in Addlestone in 2021 for our then-brand new California 6.1, and fitted it myself.

However, the proprietor Michael Bushnell still gave me plenty of good advice, and did me a deal almost as good as the best online price even though he was only selling me the parts.

May be worth a look.

Have had 3 Towbars from Phil Taylor Towbars but not on a California.

About to get one fitted to wife's car

I had a Westfalia detachable fitted by main dealer.

The electric run meant they took the front seats out?

I had to have my “Ghost” immobiliser removed as “Ghost” stated it may impact on the new electrics of the Towbar.

Apparently, something to do with “Canbus”

It took the dealer 4 days to code?

Major pain but worth it!
