If you want the later model, can reasonably afford it and it will meet your needs, then keep it.
Depreciation in £ terms will be higher.
If the earlier one meets your needs equally in different ways, including money saved, keep that.
Personally I would probably opt for the earlier one because it’s cheaper and likely to be easier to service on travels. You can pay to access cities in uk if you really want with some of the money you save or use park and ride.
However, the later model sounds like the bees knees and if you want it, despite some drawbacks, indulge yourself.
