California Club Meet Updated Information: Looe Meet - Oct 2020

We have had to withdraw from the rescheduled meet. Looe is an awful long way to travel from SE London after school on Friday and back again on Sunday. There is no realistic option for us to stay until Monday.
Sorry to hear this Tom. Hope to see you all soon.

Might look at this too - it’s a decent drive to do from Lincoln in one go.
bit pointless from lincoln. by the time you get to this camp your almost at looe

Yes, it is a shame. But I don't think we could leave home until 5pm, and at that time of day it can take 90 minutes to get from the A20/M25 junction to the M25/M3 junction, so we wouldn't arrive until about 11pm on Friday night.

I did consider coming just me and the boys, because then we could leave at 2.30pm and arrive at about 8pm, but it still feels like an awful lot of driving for such a short period.

My mistake, thought it was the Slimbridge Meeting.

Glad to see your spreadsheet skills haven't wasted away.

There were more than 30 of us anyway and hopefully it just means that we won’t be able to meet in a group but can just talk at a distance out in the fresh air.

It now includes outside gatherings ? Bit of a grey area

No different to being on a camp site and engaging in conversation with people walking past you. Guess we have to see what the site says Slimbridge too as that is in the rally field

"At present, the rules allow up to 30 people from two households, or six from multiple households, to meet outdoors.
Current guidance says you should only socialise indoors with members of up to two households."

I think even even before the new rules were were outside the the scope of the old, certainly the group are from more than two households so I don't see why we would not be allowed to continue to have our meet under the new rules.

I would think it's down to the campsite, they may be held accountable for allowing a group meeting which is against the rules, @Jabberwocky makes an interesting observation that it shouldn't have been allowed under the current rules, (probably not the best defence though!) but with renewed focus and further reduced numbers should campsites allow organised group meets to go ahead?

Applying the old rules I had concluded that we (our meet) is not classed as a "Gathering". I await with interest clarification of the new rules.

surely by attending this meet you are more at risk of contracting COVID-19 than staying at home and doing something where you dont come into contact with others?

Back on topic for jabberwocky. Assuming this is still happening ?

Extract:
(1) During the emergency period, no person may participate in a gathering which consists of more than six people unless—
(a) all the people in the gathering are from the same household, or are members of two households which are linked households in relation to each other,
(b) the gathering is one to which paragraph (2) or (2A) applies and the person concerned participates in the gathering alone or as a member of a qualifying group, or
(c) paragraph (3) applies.

We will also have this in our windscreen so other like minded folks can find us but please no more than six at a time. Actually that should be 4 as there are two of us. Face covering and social distancing a given.
