VB Air Suspension

Thanks for the tip, I’ll make a note to look at those. I’m also running a 4motion 204 and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how frugal it is on the motorway. I comfortably exceed 40 mpg sat at 68mph (also Waze!) despite the BFG's and Bilstein lift kit. The tyres are noisy though.

ITS THE DRONE OF THE TYRES ! Lol

Any current opinions on VB air , from reading various forums it’s not suited to VW vans front and rear failures , seems vb do a good job of covering up the failures ? Probably doing FOC repair, but they do look like a potential issue after spending 7k ?

Just having an absolute nightmare with my VB suspension equipped van. Rear airbag popped, they have just quoted me £499 plus vat, plus delivery for an airbag, that's not fitted, that's just delivered and the dealer can't fit it until the end of August!!! I wish I didn't have VB Suspension on my van and will be looking at getting it removed and conventional suspension fitted, I am not going through this again. They didn't want to sell me an airbag as they have had faulty base plates apparently, which would mean the whole lot needed replacing, they have decided that as mine has done more than 15K miles on it ( it's just under 3 years old) it probably isn't one of the faulty ones and have finally agreed to sell me a new airbag. I'm over a barrel so have to pay for the new bag from them, looks like my van won't be going to Camper Jam (or anywhere soon). VB had the chance to offer to replace it as a goodwill gesture but decided not to after saying to the dealer they were going to.

Thats meant to be a shocked response the forum thinks that’s a like !

Sounds an absolute nightmare given the 7k investment .

finally agreed to sell you one !
are these mot readily available?

Absolutely shocking customer service. Worth seeking legal advice…15k miles is nothing for suspension.

That’s crazy! Especially as VB is readily available in stock (at least in Switzerland). I have Goldschmidt air suspension and had an issue with the top hat bushing after 5K KM’s and they swapped it out for free promptly.

Sorry you have this experience! I’d also seek out professional advice.

I could fit standard suspension 10x for the cost of VB , thats 10000000 miles ! Vb won’t last a few thousand!

I think it's done nearly 30K since it was converted to VB Suspension, even so that's appalling. The dealer said they were going to replace it free of charge, Sean from VB suspension rang me today and said that as it "probably wasn't one of the faulty batch" he was happy to sell me a new airbag, when I said that I'd been told it was going to be replaced foc as a goodwill gesture he said "that was if it was one of the faulty batch" just has a text from the dealer and the price is £499 +vat+delivery and I have to get it fitted elsewhere as they are too busy.

R u saying VB won’t sell you the spares to fix your system, the system they supply, based on it being a sing system?

I would go for Koni active suspension if I was starting again, I don't like the pogo ride of the VB either, the compression and rebound damping is woefully inadequate.

Sing = Sh it

im shocked this used to be an “VW approved factory upgrade “ it is truly unbelievable that they claim these are fitted to every ambulance in the U.K. but can’t guarantee a t6 past 2years? An ambulance sits on its arse all day !

Yes, they didn't want to sell me the parts as it might have been a faulty batch and would just go again without replacing the whole rear kit. Meanwhile the clock ticks and my van which is my only means of transport is still off the road.

One company to avoid , I wonder what the T6 forum has to add , is this the way the deal with issues ? if this is the way VB deal with serious issues I cannot see why they would have a premium 7k price tag ?
Ru able to dive the van ! Presumably the failure had left you without a van ?

see T6 forum people removing system for fail of air bags !

So why is a VB airbag which is made by ContiTech £500 plus vat?IMG_0885.JPG

One company to avoid , I wonder what the T6 forum has to add , there supposed be a shed load of issues if this is the way VB deal with serious issues ?

No, the van is sat on the bump stop on one side on the rear.

Because they are taking the proverbial!
7k to intro a potential problem that the supply doesn’t want to supply the parts to fix the issue ?

what have they said to warrant no supply f spares parts to a failed item they supply !

Yep, captive audience once you have their £6800 suspension system fitted, they can charge what they like. Weeks wages for one airbag!! talk about tearing the backside out of it.

That is disgusting and anyone considering VB air suspension should take into account fully.

what is the system like when it works ?

I’ve heard it wallows ?
