Vents under the bed in the rear offside

Hi Everyone
Might be asking a simple question but what is behind the rear lower offside panel and why is there a vent in that position?
My offside has been damaged and I’m wondering if anything behind the panel could be involved.

The rear heater/AirCon if you have 3 zone Climatronic, Comprising fan and heat exchangers. Air sucked in via those vents and blown out via the roof vents and vent next to sliding door side of bench seat.
