VW app and Aux heating via the app

T6.1 2023, Connect Plus data plan ends Sept 2026. Discover Pro media and the plipper remote heating activation.
Primary User and S-Pin activated.

I have done a search and nothing on this has come up since 2023.... @WelshGas thanks for the advice about updating the app and I've done that.

When I first connected to the Cali after purchase (April 2025) I could swear that remote heating activation and a "find my van/tracker" function were available via the app. The heating activation would be great after winter sport and returning to a warm van but it all seems to have gone. Those functions have been removed....

All I can do is lock/unlock, flash the indicators and beep the horn. I can see driving data but pretty much, that's it. Frustrating as all the VW literature seems to say I should be able to control the heating/ventilation....

Am I missing the remote aux heating app function or is it NLA?

In the VW app, you should see the 'navigation arrow' as below, that should show you were the van is:



I seem to remember seeing the heating control also, but in the California app? Looking at it again just now I can't see it though!

Agree, long distance remote control of the aux heater through the VW App would be very handy as the plipper and California WFi App are only any use at short range.

Ours is a 2024 build Ocean and unless I've missed the obvious, I don't ever recall seeing any functionality for it in the VW App.
