So our Cali is a 2021 6.1 Ocean and we are just coming up to 10,000 miles I have just been on the VW website and the Extended Warranty is £750 is this right or can we get a better deal ??
Check the T&C's. Thats not a bumper to bumper factory warranty. Probably 3rd party that VW endorses. The additional 2 year factory warranty has to be purchased within 3 months of registration. So our Cali is a 2021 6.1 Ocean and we are just coming up to 10,000 miles I have just been on the VW website and the Extended Warranty is £750 is this right or can we get a better deal ??
Hi yes this is the offered VW Extended Warranty ie through an insurance company, as the Factory Extended was not taken out by the original owner, Looking a little deeper my We Connect Plus ends on 22/04/2024 so I assume the factory warranty is still active. But I was surprised at the price charged for 1 yearCheck the T&C's. Thats not a bumper to bumper factory warranty. Probably 3rd party that VW endorses. You pay a lot more for a lot less with those 3rd party coverages. Better off pocketing the cash and saving it for a potential rainy day. Chances are you will never need to use it, so quids inHi yes this is the offered VW Extended Warranty ie through an insurance company, as the Factory Extended was not taken out by the original owner, Looking a little deeper my We Connect Plus ends on 22/04/2024 so I assume the factory warranty is still active. Yep I did that and like the idea of a repair pot if needed so playing the numbers game at least I benefit from the cash not an insurance companyIf you put “extended warranty” in the search engine, you’ll get a lot of similar posts/questions that should help you.
Have you checked out this offering from VW.Yep I did that and like the idea of a repair pot if needed so playing the numbers game at least I benefit from the cash not an insurance company
I was looking at this the other day and it had a few excluded vehicles, California being one, but couldn't find that info today.Have you checked out this offering from VW.

I don't see why it should be excluded.I was looking at this the other day and it had a few excluded vehicles, California being one, but couldn't find that info today.
Amorak was also on list.I don't see why it should be excluded.
My Saga with VW Assist wasn't very impressive. The all in is definitely worth it for peace of mind. I had a new turbo this year (after a bit of push back from the warranty insurer) and am about to take the van in for a climate control issue which they said is covered. The AA cover is great; you get priority and a forceful AA person to take you and van to VW and tell them they have to have your van in now!
So VW Assistance did the Warranty repair a few days later on your drive. The alternative with any other Breakdown Service would have been to book it into a Dealership for the repair and that might have taken a few weeks, let alone days.My Saga with VW Assist wasn't very impressive.
Called them explained EGR pipe had detached at one end, Also advised that warranty in place.
hey said that VW cover busy but said would send out AA.
AA phoned and repeated the fault info. AA Guy said that they couldn't do warranty work but would come out anyhow.
AA Guy came and confirmed that as I wasn't paying for the part he wasn't permitted by VW to do it. He had worked in the EU area for years where he could but not in UK!
He called VW Assist to give full info on part required and arranged for job to be done a couple of days later by VW Assist.
VW Assist came and asked "what's the problem" as he had been told no history on the fault!
He went off to obtain the EGR pipe and returned a couple of hours later.
Thankfully I'd got home and didn't need to use the Cali for a while.

Nice to hear that, mines going in for gearbox oil service and mentioned my touchscreen was not all there, they didn't confirm it was covered but would ask VW under the 2 year all in, to sort. So hopefully it will be done.Hi all, my warranty history might help. I have just successfully claimed under the 2 year extended “all in”warranty on a 2017 T6 Ocean. I had a new media unit fitted a few days ago because the touchscreen had failed in the top RH corner. Understand it would have cost me circa £1000 to have it replaced. I also had the 2 year factory extended warranty from new and claimed under that for uneven lowering roof, corroded metal inner to door seals all round, failed fresh water pump level. These also saved me £2000 to £3000. Cannot speak highly enough of these VW extended warranties which mean my van has been covered for an incredible 7 years (extra cost about £500 in total). Worth it for just peace of mind alone and resale benefits let alone the up to £4000 of work carried out!
By the way recommend you all check for the above faults before any warranty runs out as I could have easily overlooked them.
Great hope you get it sorted. Yes difference I was told by dealer between VW extended warranty and “all in” warranty is that dealership cannot authorise warranty work, claims have to go back to VW. Found process quick tho 48 hours once fault checked. VW will prob ask for a software update to be carried out first at no cost to you. This was done in my case and the touchscreen fault remained. Only downside is two visits to dealer rather than one.Nice to hear that, mines going in for gearbox oil service and mentioned my touchscreen was not all there, they didn't confirm it was covered but would ask VW under the 2 year all in, to sort. Hi, Sorry to hear that, I had the door seals approved and carried under the VW factory extended warranty 5 years not the “all in” warranty. Was that the difference in your approval? Would be interesting to share for others what is not and is not covered under the “all in”I was told the door seals are not covered

The All-In not extended warranty, that must be the difference. Really hard to find what is and is not covered by the All-In looking through the Ts and CsGreat hope you get it sorted.
