Hi,

Has anyone else had water coming through the table release handle in the sliding door after rain? Could this be a potential leaking window? Van is three weeks old so I wouldn’t have though there were any blocked drainage holes and they look ok.

My bet would be the leaking sliding window drains, which are prone to suffer from a design/production flaw, resulting in them draining into the van rather than out. Lots of posts if you search “window drains” also I’ve put some details in the Resources section.
Assuming it is the drains then the fix is to replace the whole window.

Awesome. Van now leaks in three places!

Thanks for you help.

Have you checked that the kitchen window isn’t leaking? Normally shows up as water on top of waste tank and in cupboard.
I need to check property. Looked ok earlier but haven’t had everything out. Thanks for the heads up.

Did you get this resolved? Did it need a new window? ......Just noticed the same on mine but will need to check further to be sure

Two possible reasons because of which the Windows can leak
a) the seal around the windows. Apply some Gummi-Pfledge or some vaseline/petroleum jelly/silicone spray and that should stop it leaking. Though, the indications of the seal around the windows leaking is telltale signs of water droplets at the bottom of the window runners.
b) the full glass windows piece is not affixed properly. To determine this, use a hosepipe to pour water on the top of the glass pane and see if that reproduces the issue.

The first one, you can solve
The second one, take it in to the dealer. Your's is a new 6.1 so will be covered under warranty.

Thank you for the details - I'll have a play this week to see if I can replicate (although we're never short of rain).
Like you say it's new so it'll be covered......just want to get it sorted before any damage is done

Do not use Vaseline (or grease) on Rubber the petro chem content will break down the rubber compound very quickly.
use Silicone based products grease, spray etc or Gummi Pfledge, Autoglym etc products specifically designed for rubber

@Perfectos , agree, grease is a no-no. How about Vaseline? (my wife has a huge tub and it is easy for me to steal from it ;D).

Noooooooooo
It’s a petro chem derivative it will damage rubber
Shoe shine product, (cherry et at el) the foam sponge with a clear liquid are silicone based and will be easy to apply if you haven’t got the pukka stuff. PTFE spray will also be ok (dry or wet ) but you cannot beat Silicone (grease, spray , additive, running machine Belt oil, etc etc,)

Euro car parts sell silicone oil spray 500ml
, very cheaply, spray on let dry / soak in

This one is silicone based and very good, 5 litres lasts a loooog time (note this is not ECP, try “Groveshop”). Pre Covid’s this was approx £30 for 5lts

Note they do a silicone free product which is OK but no way near as good on rubber , marketed as “workshop safe” aimed at body shops (spray) etc which hate silicone products because they resit water based paints and require proper cleaning to remove the silicone

It only happened once and never happened again. Strange!
