Webasto heater decomissioned?

Hello all - some advice for a newbie please.

We recently bought a 1993 T4 California, 2.5 Petrol, German import (LHD).

As an import everything is in German. When I bought it I was told the Webasto heater had been "decommissioned" as a previous owner was nervous of using it. I wasn't bothered as previous campers have never had heaters in. But I am now wondering if it could be made to work. The heater is installed just behind hte drivers seat, and the controls are mounted above the sliding window. The controls do not function (whether disconnected or fuse removed I do not know). Does anyone have any information on how these function, or know of any companies that could "commision" it again?? I am probably using entirely the wrong language but hopefully you get my drift!

Do you have a manual with the vehicle with a scheme for the fuses?
Otherwise, a VW dealer should be able to find out, and give you the scheme?
Then you can try to check the wires and look with a voltage meter where you have voltage, and where not?
