However... having a big spare wheel on the roof is a recipe for squishing the occupants in a roll-over. And the B&Q stepladder by the rear wheel lets it down.

I once crossed China in one of these 'rolling hotels'. Great to experience scenery while laying like in an opium den setting. Food supplies via the sliding windows from local farmers. Grasshoppers and so. Great memories.

Fantastic.

I took the train over two days/three nights from Shanghai to Ürümqi. Similar culinary experiences. Triple deck bunks. Patriotic music blasting out from speakers without volume control from 6am. Someone stole my yak tail fly swat.
