What are your plans for Easter?

Using ours loads in the day but low night time temperatures mean we're being wimps about camping in it! Hopefully next week.

Lovely dry weather though!

I hate to admit this but likewise I'll also be the one struggling with the awning
Got to get it right before going to COTF I don't want to look as though I don't know what I'm doing then :laugh2

Our garden is too small to try out our awning so it's going to be the first time we've actually got it out of its bag...it's going to be an interesting afternoon when we arrive :-/ I've tried to watch and learn the You Tube video off by heart!!

Going up to 'Gibraltar Farm' at Silverdale (Morcombe bay way) for a few days with the improved weather forecast.

To the member going to 'The Quiet Site', take a look literally across the lane at Cove Park, which is ironically much quieter than 'The Quiet Site' and has much better views and more spacious pitches in my opinion.

:smile Easter is always spent in traffic :headbang Having just returned from Scotland, Fort William we seem to have ploughed into a swarm of Mozzies that pebble dashed the front of the Cali, being white it looks a treat! I will be spending the long weekend trying to remove the debri, why are Scotish Mozzies so tough :headbang

Meeting up with all the family at Bala Sailing Club .....why is it I always get a hangover after socialising with them? Get a photo of my bike for Choplee"....

Picking up a taster van while ours is on order - we plan to scout the wonderful beaches of Ceredigion including New Quay, Mwnt, Poppet Sands, Aberporth, Penbryn, Cwmtydu Beach and on Saturday the amazing Ynyslas Beach https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ynysl ... 4&bih=1032 overlooking the River Dovey Estuary and Aberdovey Later in the evening we will listen to Calum Duell at the Victoria Inn, Broth overlooking the Atlantic https://soundcloud.com/calumduell-2 - Not much really! :D

In July, France awaits with a two week trek to Poitou-Charentes via Brittany and Normandy! Roll on!!

Isle of Wight sounds great, we have booked a long weekend break in June but not booked any sites as yet, have you stayed there before? Let us know how you get on and were you stayed as it may help us decide.

Thanks

Hi Pollychops

Here is the campsite http://grangefarmholidays.com and then will be touring round and having a recon. Pretty sure there are plenty of pitch up sites but we will see and to be honest thats all part of the fun. :thumb

Goose. :D

After a wine induced staycation on the driveway we've broken our golden rule about not going away in the school holiday season...
Off to Keld in the Yorkshire Dales, honk if you see us :D

Back to the NW, Bike racing, play with my little niece who can now walk, more biking with mates and time with family, then more biking.

Rod; have you ever considered cycling? I think you'd enjoy it ;)

Very last minute plan; off to Coveracl tonight for a few nights; can't wait! Just need to remember everything; feeling a bit rusty on the packing front!

Finally met a fellow member; Sebking!

Good to see you seb; nice another van enthusiastic/clean freak. Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay!

Just did two nice at the VERY basic (and quiet) Penmarth Farm campsite in Coverack. Basically a field with showers, loos and a wash basin but no noise and Coverack is a lovely little village.

Plenty of sun so now resembling a raisin.

We have just come back from a two week trip to France and Spain in our wonderful Cali. We went from Plymouth to Roscoff and drove down the west coast of France, over the border and into Spain where we caught the ferry from Santander back to Plymouth. A fantastic trip in which the Cali performed to a level you would expect from a top class( the true one and only) campervan. We are two adults and two boys who are almost adults ! We cooked, we ate, we slept and we travelled. The boys commented that the Cali is so versatile and that they had become more attached to it during this trip. We travelled a total distance of about 900 miles and topped up with diesel once in France. The cruise control in France was brilliant. We bought a Vango Airbeam drive away awning before we left and did put it up several times. So easy to do with one person. This gave some extra space but the weather was so good that we were able to just use the Cali and the side wind out awning, with the exterior table and chairs. We visited some great campsites which we can give details of if anyone is interested. We are now back talking and planning our next trip away in our Cali. We can't wait ! For those of you heading for Cornwall and St Ives have a great time. Nowhere better ! :clap

Sounds great P14!

We're doing Santander, Portugal, SW France then a bit of Spain, Santander and back (a month) in July - can't wait!
