What have you bought for your Cali today :-)

The spending spree continues sans Coast. These badboys are getting restocked at the retailers in Europe this month.

By the way. If you buy the front and backs you can use one of them on the side by sliding the open zip in to the awning attachment point.
I have these on order, but I’m not quite understanding how you’re using ?

is this what mean?

Nice! What’s it called and where did you buy it, GC?
From eBay.

We like things that ‘fit’. These trays stack with different depths, and fit into this space perfectly. From Dunelm. Also handy for the cupboards.

I’ve finally made a decision on the mattress topper after a year of Cali ownership and went with the self inflating Kampa highline which is the 10cm version. It fits perfectly upstairs on top of the existing VW mattress and with a squeeze fits downstairs too. I have tried deflating it and closing the roof but it’s just a little too thick with the existing VW mattress. What’s nice is that you can adjust the firmness separately on each side using the individual valves. My wife prefers a firmer sleep to me.

After lots of research and reading of reviews on this forum, I’m very happy with our final choice and happy to report a great first nights sleep. To be fair, it couldn’t be any worse than the standard VW mattresses. It’s like sleeping on the floor!!

Amazingly packs up nice and small for its size and is nice and light too. A big thumbs up!!

VW 70 MAF

VW, obvs
70 - YOB
MAF - with a half Argentine partner the famous Mafalda (from the comic strip) seemed the perfect name for our Cali.

Inka Seat covers. BUT… ordered black ‘Monte Carlo’ embroidered Fronts and separate black rear bench cover (needed waterproof protection from the little terrors and SOME contrast from the Grey/Grey/Grey/Grey/Grey color combination).

Seems to me that the fronts are grey not black, although there’s no ‘grey’ option for purchase on the website for the Monte Carlo, either. On top of that the rear bench cover doesn’t seem to allow the headrests to be folded for sleeping. I’ve emailed Inka.

The front certainly doesnt match the bench seat. We have the VW version of the same (with Ocean embroided), all black, and the bench seat cutouts for the headrests is very tight, and the headrests don’t fold back ‘willingly’ . I think Inka make the VW ones also.

Many thanks for this info. Much appreciated.
Note! There are 2 models Difference is in the padlock system. The HLS is 'hidden lock system' which I got and is simpler to use as padlock stays in unit and is of the sliding bolt design.
Fitting-removal is done from outside, door open, as would be very difficult sitting.

Ok, thanks. The HLS does look the better of the two.

Some new fancy seat covers (for the front only).. quite quick to fit and great quality... I found the cheap Inkas too slippery, so put some VEEDEB ones in the front (they don't have them to fit the back)
Also the steering wheel cover.

All juiced up and no where to go. Serious Cali Coast deficiency syndrome

cool, I have something similar in 4 panel fold out. I have worked out how to charge the van with it using a 12v cigarette lighter socket. It works fine as long as you don't exceed 10 amp draw (which would blow fuses). i.e. any solar panel under 100w should be fine. I have a 160w but unlikely to get to 10amp in the UK with this, and the cable I found has a built in 10 amp replaceable fuse. I had to order a cable from the US. I will be doing a video on the whole thing as soon as I can finish the editing, it will be on our youtube channel soon.

Bought some wheels for my new joker if it ever turns up. Black Friday deal.
Will give me some time to figure out which tyres.
