What have you bought for your Cali today :-)

It will charge slightly less, but it charge nevertheless.
The other side of the medal is, if the windscreen is facing the sun, it may charge more despite the glass because of its angle than flat on the roof..
I’ve recently bought a baby version of you panel for charging devices, 16w Ravpower. It will conveniently clip on to my back pack too to charge when out and about. I intend to use it to charge power banks through the day and our devices (gps, tablets, phones) from the power banks at night.

What size and make is this big “daddy” version of yours?

This is a 120W with mppt charger. Closed it measures 560 x 440 x 20mm , unfolded 560 x 1280 x 6mm, as you can see fits perfectly begind the windscreen.

It charges battery up to 200Ah, so perfectly fine for the Cali (75x2) 150Ah
Actually the complete Kit is here: https://m.offgridtec.com/item/35313938
All this electrickery stuff is a bit of a mystery to me, but I’m learning slowly with the help of t’interweb.

We’re looking for a solar solution but don’t really want a Permanent external add on. Our needs are minor and our power concerns relate mainly to keeping the fridge running and side door opening (although I now know you can turn off the lecci assist on that) when static at 5/6 day festivals and when off grid and not driving round.

I think you'll be absolutely fine with a solar panel like mine. The point being, you want it a big bigger than you actually need, because you may not have perfect conditions or bright sun. In less optimal conditions even when slightly covered, a bigger panel (like this 120W) will still capture some light and convert it into power , whereas a smaller panel will not. And you absolutely want a mppt type charger in order to produce power with less light.

Looks great with the white van.

I really wanted black alloys when we brought the van but the quote if £2.5k put me off.... then looked at second set but with budget constraints went with a local company to paint the existing.... chuffed with the result! Please excuse the general diet! Just the decals to go!

My garage was build to fit cars arround 2m h. as at the time my Defender with roofrack and tent needed to fit and i knew a Cali was on the list of cars to come....

It's 100m2 floor (polished concrete) and one open space inside without walls or pilars.
The door is 6m wide and 2,30m h clearance .
On top an attic....
For the moment it fits 3 cars and lots of Cali-related stuff , DIY stuff , tools , workbench,...

We invested (I say invested as they weren't cheap!) in two sets of Sunnersta shelving adapters and a Pop top table. Only the metal brackets were bought from Germany, the rest was from the local IKEA. Really pleased and they dont rattle about when driving.1BAFC881-674E-4658-A648-55BBBA3C0F67.jpeg

Hi @Bryan2411 , may I ask where you got the brackets from? They look useful in that you can use the shelf with the roof bed base up. Thanks, Mike
