What's this for?

Recently moved and tilted the rear seat to fit gas to our slidepod and found this., a small retrable cover on a roller mechanism.
Does anyone know what it's for?

Looks like a load space cover. Do you have the corresponding poppers on the tailgate?

I thought it was just an inspection cover for the hinge on the bench seat. The dealer left mine flapping around like that after they tried to investigate a problem with the floor rail I just popped it back into position. Roller action presume to allow for the Folding and unfolding of the seat.
