Which electric car to buy?

3 allotments! Sounds like you must know the local councillors' secrets. I got the impression you had to register before birth to get one.
I’m lucky where I live, they are quite readily available. There is a waiting list at my site (120 5 pole plots) but normally people can get a one within about a year. Many people take one on and then loose their initial enthusiasm and give up and of course the old farts like me eventually die off :)

5 million deaths in 2 years. we are just 2 billions people too much... Covid not enough
Yet. China is still fighting to eradicate it. That will never work if they wish to rejoin the worldwide society. There is a lot more heartache to come.

I think you are exactly right.

The vaccine is not sufficient to defeat Covid. People need to catch it and recover to gain decent immunity. It’s better if this happens after they’ve had the vaccine because they are less likely to be hospitalised, and if they are hospitalised they are less likely to die.

Much of Europe are seeing surging cases of Covid, but here in the UK we might be in a better position having previously had higher numbers of infections.

Time will tell…

Now, back to towing Amis.

Put it on a trailer, with your tandem.

That’s not really surprising- solar makes sense in a sunny country. It gets progressively harder as you move North.
Solar was the largest source of electric power in Germany last June, whereas in Spain it's wind (with the UK right behind). Spain is still staggering from the years that the Conservative party (now out of power) made solar power illegal, which is why it's behind Germany, of all places. It's all about leadership and the political ability to get things done.

Another EV I find interesting.

Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo. I just don’t have the spare £135k to buy one. It’s a stunning machine. One of my neighbours has the coupe version. It does make me glance across with a bit of envy…
Lucky sod.

yes wonderful in Germany! 1 KWh costs more than 30 cent € though. I.e. 50-60% more than in UK , France etc...
For a heavy industrialised country unbearable, and foreign investors are already looking elsewhere. Wait until there will be even more power demand with EVs.

My friend has just purchased a Skoda Enyaq and it is the best looking car in SUV department for less than £35K. Gov. grant applied to that as well. He has the smallest battery, but 30-50mph it definitely quicker than my supergarged Lotus!

Nice cars, seems to get them under £35 you have to keep the spec to a minimum?

Personally after trying to charge at non super chargers, which was a total nightmare I wouldn’t want to be outside the Tesla network but for home charging looks ideal

Thanks, although I couldn’t see a conversion price, and understand there are only a few public hydrogen stations in the U.K. (are they really “growing fast”?), it’s good to read that conversion is being marketed.
