There are remedies available worldwide...I lived in Mexico for 10 years and the family of a friend of mine makes this:

He also told me that if all the tequila sold worldwide was actually made from agave, the plantations would have to occupy 20x the entire national territory of Mexico. Moral of the story: Don’t buy whisky outside Scotland.

That's what I said on another thread about English vs. American accent, but some people can be a little touchy when it's so close to home. That said, I have never met anyone who doesn't think Scottish accent is the best (beam me up Scottie!).

No Balvenie as yet! this time of year is usually my time for buying as some good deals through Amazon etc, but alas the purchase of our Cali has slowed it down slightly

Distilled at Miltonduff - February 1966, bottled at Duncan Taylor - February 2004 (38 year), bottle 87/178.

Okay had to look up Miltonduff - a distillery just outside Elgin. Looks like it was under Hiram Walker back in 1966, nowadays Fortune Brands (for whom I used to work, but many years back).
